Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has sent a fact-finding mission to Senegal today, on Thursday, to assess the Stadium facilities of Stade Lat Dior in Thies and the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio as possible host venues for The Gambia Afcon 2023 qualifiers game against South Sudan.

“The fact-finding mission will comprise of officials from the GFF, our Events Management Committee, and the Ministry of Youth & Sports. The team that left Banjul on Thursday 5th May, 2022, will hold meetings with the Senegalese Football Federation and the Stadiums’ Managements to look at ways of ensuring Gambian supporters travel to Senegal to watch the match,” said GFF in a statement.

According to the Football House, upon return to Banjul, the mission will submit a recommendation to the GFF and the Ministry which will then determine the country’s choice of venue for the said qualifier. As and when a decision is made on the venue of the match, the public will be informed accordingly.
