Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia U-17 national team has been drawn in Group A of the upcoming WAFU Zone A U-17 qualifying tournament for the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, according to the Gambia Football Federation (GFF).
The draw took place on Monday at the Radisson Collection Hotel in Bamako, Mali.
Gambia will face host nation Mali, Liberia, and Guinea-Bissau in Group A, while Group B consists of Senegal, Sierra Leone, Mauritania, and Guinea.
The tournament is scheduled to run from October 3 to October 18, 2025, in Mali.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway as Head Coach Yahya Manneh and his technical team have resumed the second phase of player screening at the Ousman Saho Football Field in Yundum, following a weekend break.
The GFF stated that the technical staff plans to trim the squad after Wednesday’s session to make way for the final batch of players, who will be screened on Thursday and Friday.
Regular team training is set to begin on Monday, as the Baby Scorpions gear up for their campaign in the regional qualifiers.
