Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia is set to participate in the upcoming UEFA organised U-16 girls’ tournament to be held in Liechtenstein, Eastern Europe. The team has been registered by The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) to take part in the competition that is set to begin on April 24, 2022.
In this regard, the GFF has appointed ex-women’s footballer Suna Njie as the Head Coach with Khadijatou E. Jatta as Team Manager. Other officials in the technical team include Jabou Joof as assistant coach; Kebba Njie the goalkeeper trainer and Veronic Aisha Malack the team administrator.
The players are selected from across women’s football academies and schools. The team is currently training at the home of Gambian football at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum as part of a screening process before the finalisation of the squad to take part in the competition. The final selection will begin their official training today, on Monday 4th April, 2022 at 8am during weekdays.
