Africa-Press – Gambia. Week 10 of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF)–APS Wallet men’s second division league concluded on Tuesday with several notable results, including a late victory for RS Tallinding and a strong away win for Kanifing East FC.
RS Tallinding claimed a dramatic 2-1 away victory over Gunjur United at the Nyimina Field thanks to a late header by Ba Alpha Ceesay. Young forward Foday Sawaneh had earlier given Tallinding the lead after 21 minutes, marking his third goal in two matches. Gunjur United equalised before the break through Musa Jammeh’s long-range strike. However, Tallinding secured maximum points when captain Modou Lamin Sallah’s cross found Ceesay, whose late header sealed the win.
At the Ousman Saho Football Field, Colley Stars FC maintained their position at the top of the standings after a 1-1 draw against Serrekunda United. The visitors took the lead in the closing stages through Ensa Conta, but former Gambia U-17 player Bubacarr Suso scored a late equaliser for Colley Stars to rescue a point. Serrekunda United finished the match with ten players following the late dismissal of Ebrima Keita for a second yellow card.
Elsewhere, Kanifing East FC secured a 2-0 away victory over Suwo Kono at the Soma Mini Stadium, with Omar Baldeh scoring twice in the second half. The result moved Kanifing East into second place in the 18-team league standings.
Elite United FC and Sibanor United FC played out a goalless draw at the Live Your Dreams Academy Field in Basori.
Following the latest round of matches, Colley Stars lead the table with 20 points, ahead of Kanifing East FC and Wallidan FC, who are tied on 19 points. Suwo Kono, Gunjur United and Serrekunda FC remain in the relegation zone.
