Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia Ports Authority FC have moved to third place in the on-going 2023-2024 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division League after defeating Gambian Dutch Lions FC 2-1 in their week twenty-one fixture played at the Banjul King George 5 Mini-Stadium on Sunday.

Mamadi Chorr gave The Gambia Ports Authority FC the lead in 39th seconds.

The Ferry boys extended their lead in the 25th minute of the match through an own goal by Gambian Dutch Lions player.

Gambian Dutch Lions scored one goal in the dying minute of the match, which eventually proved to be a consolation for them.

The Gambia Ports Authority now recorded their ninth win of the season, while Gambian Dutch Lions suffered their sixth defeat of the league campaign.

The Ferry boys overall collected nine wins, seven draws and five defeats in 21 league matches.

Gambian Dutch Lions overall recorded nine victories, six draws and six defeats after 21 league outings.

GPA FC under the guidance of Coach Babucarr Coker now moved to 3rd position on the league table with 34 points, a point above Gambian Dutch Lions, who dropped to 4th position on the league table with 33 points.
