Africa-Press – Gambia. GRA gets new commissioner of Customs The Gambia Revenue Authority, GRA, has promoted its deputy commissioner of operation to commissioner of customs. Ismaila Jallow replaced the retired Joseph Findi Njie who served the GRA for over 42 years.

The promotion was sanctioned by GRA commissioner general Yankuba Darboe and approved by the Ministry of Finance. Mr Jallow is vastly experienced and worked in different senior positions at GRA.

The GRA CG Yankuba Darboe welcomed Mr Jallow’s promotion and thanked Joseph Njie for his selflessness over the past 42 years. “I have worked with Mr Jallow for years from the days of customs to GRA. He is trustworthy and reliable and I have no doubt that he will serve the position to the best of his ability,” he said.

Reacting to his promotion, Ismaila Jallow thanked the GRA management for the trust and commitment to do his utmost best to live up to expectation. “This is a reflection of the trust bestowed on me by the Ministry of Finance and the GRA board,” he said.
