Africa-Press – Gambia. The Ministry of Health has issued a public advisory cautioning the public against the use of weight gain pills, warning that such products pose serious health risks.
According to the Ministry, widely used pills such as “Per Yassin,” “3 Days Pill,” and “Perr” may promise rapid results but can severely damage vital organs, including the liver, kidneys, and heart.
“These pills are not safe. Most are unregulated and can quietly damage your liver, kidneys, and heart,” the Ministry stated.
It further stressed that the dangers of these products far outweigh any perceived benefits. “The so-called ‘fast results’ often come with serious risks, including lifelong health complications,” the statement added.
The Ministry encouraged individuals to adopt safer and healthier alternatives such as balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and professional medical guidance, instead of resorting to unregulated substances.
“Don’t gamble with your health for quick results. Your body deserves better,” the Ministry urged.
In recent years, an increasing number of young people in The Gambia have turned to weight gain pills in pursuit of an idealized body image, raising public health concerns.
