Africa-Press – Gambia. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall for 84 units of its premium motorcycles. These include 2020 to 2022 year models of the CRF1100 Africa Twin, CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, and GL1800 Gold Wing Tour.
The Indian arm of the Japanese brand said in a press statement that due to improper setting of the program in PGM-FI unit, there is a possibility of the engine to stall while riding. The press statement further added that there are no cases of any failure reported in India till date.As a precautionary measure, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will carry a software update for the affected models at the BigWing Topline dealerships across India starting from 3 September, 2022. This update will be done free of cost, irrespective of warranty status of the vehicle.
The company’s BigWing Topline dealers will notify customers via call, e-mail, or SMS for inspection of their vehicle. Owners can also check if their vehicle falls under this campaign by submitting their unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Honda BigWing website.
