Africa-Press – Gambia. Humanity First International on Saturday commemorated its 30th anniversary worldwide.
Speaking at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat headquarters in Tallinding, Amir Baba F. Trawally explained that Humanity First was founded in response to the humanitarian crisis caused by the Bosnian War (1992-1995). The organization was created to provide essential aid, such as food, clothing, and shelter, to those affected by both natural and man-made disasters.
Amir Trawally noted that since its inception, Humanity First has been involved in numerous projects in education, medical assistance, information technology (IT), and borehole drilling.
He highlighted that the Masroor Senior Secondary School, established by the organization in 2005, is now a leading educational institution in the country.
Kawsu Kinteh, Chairman of the Humanity First Gambia Branch, emphasized that the organization’s primary purpose is to alleviate human suffering. He noted that Humanity First has responded to countless disasters without discrimination.
In The Gambia, the organization’s IT center in Latrikunda Sabiji has trained thousands of people, many of whom now work in civil, military, and public services. Additionally, Kinteh stated that Humanity First has drilled a number of boreholes in communities across the country where access to safe drinking water is a challenge.
