Africa-Press – Gambia. We are pleased to announce the formal introduction of the Central Committee of Gambians Against Looted Assets (GALA). Following the government’s response to our demands, which included the release of details regarding the controversial sale of forfeited assets belonging to former president Jammeh, an address to the nation by the President, and parliament’s establishment of an inquiry into the Janneh Commission’s sale of Jammeh’s looted assets, we have dedicated the past week to setting up the national Executive Committee that will guide the movement’s direction moving forward.
As a nationalist movement committed to a future rooted in integrity, accountability, and transparency, we believe it is now time to formally introduce to the Gambian people the leaders of GALA. Our leadership, as shown in the attached flyer, reflects the values we uphold: honest governance, responsible citizenship, and unwavering dedication to the people of The Gambia. This Executive Committee comprises Gambians from various backgrounds, united by a common purpose — to drive a new era of youth-led action for national renewal and public trust.
We would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest gratitude to the Gambian people, both at home and abroad, for your continued support. What began as a small group of fewer than ten Gambians has grown into a national movement that is now widely admired and respected, thanks to your belief in our cause for a better Gambia.
As we move forward, we urge the public to recognize and engage only with the legitimate leaders of GALA, as outlined in the attached flyer. Any individuals claiming to be part of the GALA Central Committee who are not listed here should be regarded as unauthorized representatives. We stress the importance of working with the officially recognized leadership to ensure the integrity of our movement.
