Internal Divisions Emerge in Team Kaba before GFF Election

Africa-Press – Gambia. Tensions have emerged within Team Kaba Bajo ahead of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) presidential election scheduled for August, as differing candidacies within the camp signal growing internal divisions.

Kemo Ceesay was the first to declare his intention to contest the presidency. His decision was communicated to members of the executive committee and initially received support within the group.

However, the situation changed following the entry of Colonel Musa Jammeh into the race under the same political camp, leading to the emergence of parallel support bases.

Reports indicate a growing split among stakeholders within Team Kaba. Some officials, including GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo, Bakary K. Jammeh and Ebou Faye, are said to be leaning in favour of Colonel Jammeh’s candidacy.

At the same time, several regional football association presidents are reportedly backing Kemo Ceesay, further deepening internal divisions.

President Bajo has not publicly endorsed any candidate. The development is expected to influence the dynamics of the upcoming GFF presidential election.
