Africa-Press – Gambia. Mr. Jallow, who served as the secretary general of GNOC is nominated to serve as member of ANOCA Legislation and Governance Commission. Ousman Wadda, newly-elected second-vice President of GNOC also nominated to serve as member of the ANOCA Finance Committee. Mr. Jallow expressed delight to have been appointed by ANOCA to serve in such a prestigious committee with highly experienced personalities.

“In working to enhance Good Governance in the sporting landscape in the continent, The Gambia stands to be the biggest beneficiary tapping from my expertise and the experience gained from my colleagues to identify opportunities that would create structures to promote sports,” said Mr. Jallow.

He continues: “Even before this appointment my working relationship with the current board in this short time has been exceptional. “In fact, one of my assignments for them is to work on a Governance framework for the GNOC and its stakeholders.

My role in this Commission can only enhance this assignment and others. However, the commission’s work is for all member NOC’s but the GNOC will have me on the ground if needed for guidance and support.”

He thanked the president and secretary general of ANOCA for the confidence they have in him to serve in their commission, noting that it shows the Gambia is making positive strides in making its ways in sports administration within the continent.

Ousman Wadda, former Treasurer of the GNOC will serve the continental body from 2021to 2024. He once served as a board and technical committee member of Islamic Solidarity Sport Federation (ISSF) which is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with a membership of 54 Islamic countries.
