Africa-Press – Gambia. The community of Chissay Majaw in Jokadou has commended the JAMSAI Foundation, a humanitarian organization based in Kotu, for its timely support to vulnerable families in the area.
Speaking during a distribution event in the North Bank Region, Alkalo Alhaji Majaw Ceesay and former councilor for Dasilami Ward, Tamsir Chume, praised the foundation’s efforts in providing clothing, shoes, and bags to men, women, and children.
They described the donation as both timely and consistent with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith.
“This support will greatly assist parents in meeting the clothing needs of boys and girls, as well as women,” said Alkalo Ceesay.
Ebrima Chume, a Grade 5 student at Chissay Majaw Lower Basic School, and Chumbeh Jallow, a mother of four, also expressed their appreciation.
They noted that the donation of quality clothing, shoes, and bags is especially important during the rainy season when families face increased economic challenges.
Fatou Touray, the women’s leader of the village, expressed gratitude to the donor for the donation, noting that the items directly meet the needs of the families.
She appealed passionately to the foundation for continued support, highlighting the limited income-generating opportunities available to women during the off-season.
Representing the foundation, Demba Sanyang reaffirmed JAMSAI’s commitment to serving humanity. He thanked the members, volunteers, and friends who helped mobilize and donate the high-quality items for the beneficiaries.
“Since our establishment in 2023, JAMSAI Foundation has extended various forms of assistance to families and schools to enhance education and improve lives,” Sanyang said.
He expressed hope that the foundation’s continued efforts will bring lasting impact to more communities across the region.
