Africa-Press – Gambia. Gambia Football Federation (GFF) presidential aspirant Sadibou Kamaso has outlined his vision for the development of football in The Gambia, stressing the need for integrity, realistic planning and sustainable growth.
Kamaso said the leadership of the GFF should be based on credible programmes rather than what he described as “empty promises and false claims.”
“The Gambia Football Federation top leadership position should not be decided on empty promises and false claims, but rather on genuine goals and achievable plans for the future,” he said in a statement.
He pledged to prioritise tangible improvements across all levels of the game, including grassroots development, league organisation and national team performance.
According to him, Gambian football requires leadership anchored on transparency, accountability and long-term planning.
“I am determined to bring about real change and improvement for Gambian football, and not just use flashy propaganda to win votes,” Kamaso added.
He noted that calls for reforms, improved infrastructure and stronger governance have grown within the football community, adding that these concerns must be addressed to move the sport forward.
Kamaso expressed confidence that with the right leadership, Gambian football can achieve greater recognition at both continental and global levels.
“It is time for Gambian football to be taken seriously and to be seen as a respected and successful entity,” he said.
