Africa-Press – Gambia. The head coach of Kanifing East Football Club, Mr. Kebba Drammeh, has passed away.
His death was announced on Tuesday, shortly before his side was due to face Baalor Sarr FC at the Brikama Boxba Mini Stadium. The match was subsequently cancelled following the sudden news.
The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) expressed sorrow over the loss.
“It is with a heavy heart that the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has learnt of the untimely death of the head coach of Kanifing East Football Club, Mr. Kebba Drammeh, better known as Gibou. He was a good Muslim and a wonderful human being whose demise will leave a huge vacuum in Gambian football,” the GFF wrote.
It added that, due to this unfortunate news, Tuesday’s second division league matches between Baalor Sarr FC and Kanifing East, as well as Serekunda United against Waa Banjul FC, have both been called off until further notice.
The GFF, on behalf of the football family, extended its heartfelt condolences to Kanifing East Football Club and the family of the late Gibou Drammeh.
