Africa-Press – Gambia. Kebba Madi Bojang, former National Youth President of the National People’s Party (NPP), together with three associates, has formally resigned from the party.
In a jointly signed letter, Bojang, along with Lamin Jatta (NPP member), Lamin Touray (former Deputy Youth Public Relations Officer), and Sainey Manneh (former Regional Public Relations Officer), cited “personal and collective conviction” as the reason for their decision to leave.
“We appreciate the opportunity we had to serve under the NPP and to contribute to the growth and activities of the party,” the letter stated. The group further expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership, members, and supporters for the trust and collaboration extended to them during their tenure.
Their departure comes months after the NPP announced their expulsion from their executive positions in June, accusing them of violating the party’s constitution and ethical standards. Prior to that announcement, speculation circulated that Bojang and his colleagues were preparing to challenge President Adama Barrow’s bid for a third term by forming a new political party.
Bojang is currently leading the National Democratic Party (NDP), a political movement that is yet to be officially registered.
