Madi Ceesay says UDP will continue to fight for Gambians’ welfare

Africa-Press – Gambia. By Binta Jaieth Honorable Madi Ceesay, the National Assembly member for Serrekunda West, has said the United Democratic Party will continue to fight for the welfare of Gambian people.

Honorable Madi was speaking after the Supreme Court ruling as it quashed United Democratic Party legal challenge against President Adama Barrow and the Independent Electoral Commission saying the ruling will be respected.

“UDP will continue to fight for the welfare of the countries till justice is serve,” he said, adding “We know how corrupt and naive this government is and they cannot manage this country basic commodities are increasing and Gambians cannot buy a bag of rice.”

“Barrow has registered foreigners into our electoral system and induce people by giving them money and is clear fraud adding that election and that is completely in contrary to the election act,” he disclosed.

He continued, “however, if the case has proceeded properly there is no way that president Barrow will win and the Supreme Court will nullify the December 4th Elections. The decision of the Supreme Court will not have any negative impact on the existence of the party and the tireless job of the party militants that is why we were able to uproot the worst dictator in the country.”

However, he said: ‘I have no issues with it because there is no other court where we can appeal, if the case went proper the UDP has enough evidence to the court that this election is rigged and stolen by the Barrow that has no doubt.”

“The party is fit to contest in the 2026 presidential elections because we have been making existence since 1996 and there is no reason why we should not and majority of Gambians are willing to vote and they have voted,” he said.
