Africa-Press – Gambia. Misira United FC were crowned champions of the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) Summer Nawettan Knockout competition on Saturday, after defeating Manokang FC in a dramatic post-match penalty shootout.
The final, held at the Brikama Boxba Mini Stadium, ended in a goalless draw for the second consecutive fixture, forcing the contest to be decided by penalties. Both sides created several scoring opportunities but failed to convert, mirroring the outcome of the first match.
In the ensuing shootout, Misira United prevailed 4-3 over the visiting Manokang FC, securing the championship.
Misira United players received gold medals, a trophy, and a cash prize of D50,000, while runners-up Manokang FC were awarded silver medals and D40,000.
