Africa-Press – Gambia. The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, on Friday, 24th October 2025, inaugurated a new Board of Directors for the National Centre for Arts and Culture (NCAC). The ceremony was held at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Banjul.

The newly appointed Chairperson of the Board is Mrs Nahla Tambedou, with Musa Sise, Haruna Drammeh, and Badara Jallow among the other members.

The NCAC, established to preserve and promote The Gambia’s rich cultural heritage, is central in advancing arts and culture as key pillars of national development. Its mandate aligns with the National Development Plan (NDP), which promotes inclusive cultural initiatives and sustainable tourism growth. The government’s goal, as outlined in the NDP, is “to make tourism a highly competitive and sustainable industry that is people- and culture-centred, celebrating the country’s heritage and contributing to socio-economic development.”

In his address during the inauguration, Minister Jobe congratulated the newly appointed board members and urged them to work closely with the NCAC management to enhance effective service delivery and institutional progress.

However, the new board will serve for a tenure of three years.
