Africa-Press – Gambia. The North Bank Region Football Association (NBRFA), through its Competition Department, has held a pre-season meeting for the Women’s Third Division League in preparation for the 2025/2026 season.
The meeting, held on Monday, brought together representatives of participating clubs and was supported by the Women’s Football Committee. It provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss key issues and expectations ahead of the new season.
Officials confirmed that the Women’s Third Division League will expand to 10 teams for the upcoming season. Following the relegation of Young Icons from the Second Division, three teams are expected to compete in a playoff series to determine the final slot. The playoff matches are scheduled to take place from Wednesday to Sunday.
Participants were briefed on the competition format, rules and regulations, fixtures, and player registration procedures. It was also announced that the 2025/2026 season will kick off on 10 April 2026, while the player registration window will close on 8 April 2026.
The association further announced a waiver on registration fees and a one-time financial support package of D5,000 for each participating club. However, prize money for the competition will remain unchanged.
