Africa-Press – Gambia. The National Centre for Arts and Culture (NCAC) Wednesday, 7th December 2022 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the Gambian artists and cultural associations in the Gambia.

The signing ceremony of the MoU was held at the NaNA Complex in Bakau.

The MoU which contained ten articles was signed on behalf of the two partners by Hassoum Ceesay, Director General of the National Centre for Arts and Culture (NCAC), and Justine Guschlbauer, Director of Alliance Francaise De Banjul.

The Memorandum of Understanding takes into consideration the indispensability of partnership in the promotion of the artistic and cultural heritage, duties and responsibilities of the two organizations to carry out their mandate in the revival and development of arts and culture in The Gambia; aware of the fundamental role played by the two organizations in cultural exchange and the search for world peace and tolerance between different peoples; desirous of establishing strong cooperation between the National Centre for Arts and Culture and Alliance Francaise de Banjul and the two organizations.

According to the MoU, the two organizations have agreed to collaborate very closely in the promotion of Gambian artists and cultural associations, cooperate in the marketing of Gambian artistic and cultural products; support each others’ efforts in their strive to entrench and maintain a strong cultural exchange between the Gambia and artists from other parts of the world.

More so, the two organizations shall collaborate in the research and documentation of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Gambia, the sub-region, and the rest of the world.
