Africa-Press – Gambia. As a dream come true, the management of GMB Promotion, on Saturday, 26th July 2025 officially signed a music contract with Gambian artists Pascal Mendy and Kadir Jabbie, popularly known as Pa Chichi.
The contract signing took place at Motherland in Senegambia, marking a significant milestone for GMB Promotion.
Addressing the audience before the endorsement, Christopher Mendy, widely known as Chris Black, a Germany-based Gambian music promoter and event organizer, expressed his delight. He highlighted that this partnership represents the first time GMB Promotion has signed artists based in The Gambia.
“We’ve been working with different artists, different people from different continents, but this is the first time GMB Promotion is signing Gambian artists living in The Gambia. So, it is a great day for us,” he stated.
Chris Black gave thanks to God for granting GMB Promotion the capacity to make this happen, noting, “It has been a long run, but we are all happy that officially, Pascal Mendy and Pa Chichi will join the race to compete with international artists both at home and abroad.”
Welcoming the duo to GMB Promotion, he emphasized the importance of action over formality. “It’s not just about signing. We must be pragmatic, take action, and make sure The Gambia is seen on the global stage,” he added.
Following the endorsement, both artists expressed their excitement and pledged full commitment to their musical journey, declaring that the sky is their only limit.
It was also announced that the duo will soon launch new music projects – Pascal is currently working on two albums, while Pa Chichi is working on one.
Other promoters present at the event pledged their support and commended the artists, urging them to meet fans’ expectations and deliver memorable performances. They also applauded Chris Black and GMB Promotion for their renewed focus on showcasing Gambian music talent to the world.
“There are so many talented artists here who don’t have support, but with GMB Promotion now coming back home, it is promotion time for our young, talented, upcoming artists,” Chris Black assured.
