Poem: why the World is Silent?

Africa-Press – Gambia. Why the world is silent when hunger and genocide are killing

Maltreatment, mismanagement and human rights violation are ruining innocents pride and their lives.

Are we not tired of seeing innocent suffering and dying without no just cause

The world really needs to find justice for the powerless people

PROFESSOR, how do I imagine living in a silent and ignorant world like this

The world that never hears the music or laughter of the innocent crying

The world that never hears the innocent youths calling on their mother’s name out of options

The world that never feels the pain of innocent poor orphans

How do I imagine living in a silent and blind world?

When silent the world shall remain unspoken

A feeling of sadness rises within the innocents

And enosis descend within them

The flows through them while they walk

Feelings of resentment towards such words like a tide tends to strike them.

Though they still walk, they wobble but they still walk

Out of breath, they sit down with agitation

This world hit them hard, on their souls and minds

Trust and fear are crumbling them

They stand to seek for the unspoken truth

To hid all their feelings risen with the silent world

PROFESSOR I am no longer silent

I’m the voice of the voiceless, who never look up and hide their face

I am the voice for those who have so much to say but stay in their unsafe zones

Haye world, stop making fun of those who are suffering from maltreatment and genocide

Because a day will come you are going to wish you hadn’t

I am the voice of the voiceless, the power of the powerless

It maybe a whisper or maybe a yell.

But I am going to stand up; say it anyhow since the world chooses to be silent watching innocents dying anyhow

Because I am no longer tied down by my silence

I am going to open my mind and let it out

For I am the voice of those who stay silent in pain and heartbroken
