President Barrow Begins Nationwide “Meet the People” Tour

Africa-Press – Gambia. President Adama Barrow on Monday began a three-week nationwide “Meet the People Tour,” a constitutionally mandated exercise aimed at engaging citizens and assessing the impact of government policies across the country.

The tour, which runs from November 10 through December 3, 2025, will include 21 constituency meetings and 31 site visits to development projects in sectors such as road infrastructure, health, agriculture, education, energy, and youth and women’s empowerment.

Under the Gambian Constitution, the president is required to meet with citizens at least twice a year to stay informed about their living conditions and the effectiveness of national programs.

This year’s tour will begin in the provinces, where President Barrow is expected to hold community consultations and hear directly from residents about challenges in their regions. Officials say the trip will also serve as an opportunity to inspect ongoing projects and outline the government’s priorities for the coming year.
