President Barrow Temporarily Lifts 50-Meter Restrictions On Market Areas

Africa-Press – Gambia. Out of humanitarian considerations and in the spirit of Ramadan, His Excellency President Adama Barrow has temporarily lifted the 50-meter restrictions on market areas and commercial hubs across the country.

This measure is effective immediately, and allows citizens and members of the business community to peacefully trade among themselves in preparation for the Eid ul Fitrfeast locally called “Koriteh.” Vendors and their customers are advised to respect public order and avoid all forms of obstructions to vehicular activity around their areas of business operations. Those selling clothes are equally urged to follow the same rules governing this temporary lift.

Traders are to ensure the cleanliness of the commercial hubs and collect all waste at the end of every trading day.

The 50-metre restriction on all public spaces shall be restored on Monday 15th April, 2024 after Koriteh.
