Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia senior women’s national team popularly known as the Queen Scorpions resumed training on Monday following a brief weekend break, as preparations intensify for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.
Head Coach Mariama Bom Sowe is leading the training sessions with renewed focus, aiming to sharpen her squad ahead of their crucial next match.
According to the Gambia Football Federation (GFF), players from Berewuleng FC and RAM Camara FC who recently returned from representing The Gambia at the CAF WAFU-A Women’s Champions League qualifiers in Senegal were all present and participated in the session.
The Queen Scorpions are set to face Kenya in October, continuing their quest for a historic qualification to the Women’s AFCON. In the previous round, the team delivered an impressive performance, defeating Niger 4-1.
