Africa-Press – Gambia. Berewuleng FC, the Gambia Football Federation Women’s Division One champions, have received a D20,000 cash donation from Red Scorpions FC as they intensify preparations to represent The Gambia in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Red Scorpions stated that the gesture is part of their continued commitment to promoting women’s football in the country.
Berewuleng FC is currently holding a training camp at the national football hotel in Old Yundum. The donation was presented by Red Scorpions on Wednesday.
“Our head coach and assistant coach led the visit, where they met with the team currently in camp, intensifying preparations ahead of their maiden appearance in the WAFU A CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers. On behalf of Red Scorpions’ management, staff, and players, we proudly presented a cash donation of D20,000 to support Berewuleng’s continental campaign. The contribution was graciously received by Omar Gaye, chairman of their fundraising committee,” Red Scorpions FC announced.
As fierce competitors on the pitch but sisters in the greater cause of uplifting Gambian women’s football, Red Scorpions FC wished Berewuleng the best of luck ahead of the tournament.
