Africa-Press – Gambia. The Deputy Governor of North Bank Region (NBR) has expressed government commitment towards the hosting of the historic OIC Summit scheduled for 4-5th May. Dembo Samatehtasked all Imams, youths, and women to support the government towards a successful conference while hailing President AdamaBarrow and the government for national development.
Deputy Governor Samateh was speaking to worshippers at Mbuguma during the recently celebrated Eid prayer in the North Bank Region.
With great concern, he emphasized on the government’s commitment on improving the well-being of the population while using the occasion to call on youths to complement government efforts in the drive towards sustainable peace and security.
The Deputy Governor once again called on both citizens and non-citizens to rally behind President Adama Barrow and the government to have a successful host of the OIC summit. He thanked the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council and all Muslims for a peaceful co-existence with other religious denominations in the maintenance of law and order.
