Africa-Press – Gambia. Sallah’s FC from Central River Region has joined Rakie FC of Kanifing Municipality in qualifying for the GFF Women’s Second Division League, following a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Ndim’s FC on Tuesday at the Soma Mini Stadium.
Needing a win to qualify, Ndim’s FC started brightly and took the lead in the 13th minute through star player Awa Manka, who dribbled past defenders and buried a low shot into the bottom corner. However, Fatoumata Sanneh equalized for Sallah’s FC deep into first-half stoppage time.
After two rounds of matches, Sallah’s FC topped the three-team table with four points, followed by Ndim’s FC on two, while Star Academy managed just a single point.
Sallah’s FC now becomes the second team from CRR to qualify for the GFF Women’s Second Division League after Stone Circles FC.
