Sanneh Urges Diaspora to Support UDP in 2026 Election

Africa-Press – Gambia. Landing B. Sanneh, Chairman of the Mansakonko Area Council, has called on Gambians in the diaspora to use their influence to help secure a United Democratic Party (UDP) victory in the 2026 presidential election.

Speaking at the UDP Seattle Diaspora Convention, Sanneh described it as “unfortunate” that Gambians abroad are not allowed to vote in national elections. However, he emphasized that they can still play a crucial role by encouraging relatives and friends back home to cast their ballots for the UDP.

“Talk to your people back home and engage those that are non-UDP members here so they can also talk to their people to vote for UDP,” Sanneh urged.

Highlighting the need for political change, Sanneh said, “Gambia needs your help for change. Change cannot happen only through talks. It has to go with action, and we have to be ready to work.”

He stressed that the party needs votes “more than ever” to address what he described as the country’s urgent need for change. Achieving this, he added, will require unity and collective effort from all supporters.
