Africa-Press – Gambia. Jonathan McKinstry, head coach of The Gambia national team, on Wednesday, announced his 25-man squad set to face Kenya and Burundi in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The squad includes a mix of familiar names and new call-ups, with Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh and Jesper Ceesay earning their places under McKinstry’s leadership. The crucial qualifiers are scheduled for September 5 and 9, 2025, respectively.

The Scorpions currently have four points from six qualifying matches, one win, one draw, and four losses, and sit second from bottom, just above Seychelles in the group standings.
With two vital fixtures ahead, The Gambia will be looking to turn their campaign around. Wins against Kenya and Burundi could potentially lift them to third place, depending on results from other group games.
