Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia’s senior national football team, the Scorpions, secured back-to-back victories in their September international fixtures, winning both matches in convincing fashion.

The first win came on September 5th in an away match against Kenya. Sheriff Sinyan opened the scoring in the 12th minute, finishing off a fine assist from Yankuba Minteh. The Scorpions doubled their lead in the 26th minute through Minteh, who found the net with a brilliant finish after a setup by Musa Barrow. Barrow then turned goalscorer in the 38th minute, capitalizing on a pass from Adama Sidibeh to make it 3-0 by halftime. Kenya managed a late consolation in the 81st minute through Ryan Ogam, but the Scorpions held firm to claim a 3-1 victory.

In their second match on Tuesday, the Scorpions continued their fine form with a 2-0 win over Burundi. Alieu Fadera opened the scoring in the 34th minute from the penalty spot. Ebrima Adams sealed the result in the 76th minute, doubling the lead and securing another impressive performance for the Gambian side.

With these two wins, the Scorpions showcased both attacking flair and defensive solidity, marking a successful international window for the team.
