Africa-Press – Gambia. Sectors operating under the Office of the Vice President gathered at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in Bijilo to assess their progress, address key challenges, and share accomplishments.

The session, known as the Bi-monthly Sector Coordinating Meeting, was officially opened by Vice President Mohammed B.S. Jallow, with the Food Safety and Quality Authority serving as the host institution.

In his opening remarks, Vice President Jallow underscored the importance of collaboration, innovation, and accountability in achieving national goals. He emphasized that the platform plays a vital role in stock-taking and strategic coordination among sectors.

“This platform is not just for coordination, but for assessing progress, identifying challenges, and mapping the way forward,” VP Jallow said.

He highlighted the essential contributions of participating sectors in critical areas, including food safety, nutrition, disaster preparedness, population planning, early warning systems, and social protection.

Commending the ongoing collaboration among the sectors, the Vice President encouraged deeper cooperation to deliver greater impact and ensure better outcomes for Gambians.
