Africa-Press – Gambia. Sheriffo Baiyo Sonko, the nominated councilor for Transport at Brikama Area Council, has reportedly begun a hunger strike while in detention at Kanifing Police Station. Sonko was summoned for questioning on Friday afternoon and has been in custody since.
According to credible sources, Sonko has steadfastly declined any sustenance offered by the police and his family members. His intention is to abstain from food until he is released.
