Africa-Press – Gambia. As the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) Nawettan qualifiers intensify, Sinchu United, Young Power, and Pompeh Bi FC have all advanced to the second round following victories on Sunday.
Sinchu United moved on after a tense penalty shootout against Demala FC. The match ended in a draw during regulation time, but Sinchu United held their nerve to win 4-2 on penalties.
The travelling Sinchu United team keeps their hopes alive in the BSC Nawettan qualifiers with this crucial win.
Demala FC’s campaign came to an end for another season, ending their bid for qualification.
Young Power secured their place in the next round with a narrow 1-0 win over Super Life. Edward Jassey’s goal in the 30th minute was the decisive difference in a closely contested game.
Pompeh Bi FC also advanced after a penalty shootout win over Super Life. Jerreh Ayisi gave Pompeh Bi an early lead in the 12th minute, but Issac Gomez equalised in the 49th minute. The match went to penalties, where Pompeh Bi won 4-3 to secure progression.
The qualifiers continue as teams battle for a place in the BSC Nawettan.
