Trust Bank Donates Medical Supplies to Essau Hospital

Africa-Press – Gambia. Trust Bank on Wednesday donated medical and essential supplies valued at 200,000 dalasis to Essau District Hospital, reinforcing the bank’s annual effort to bolster the country’s strained public health system.

The contribution—part of the institution’s corporate social responsibility program—included medical consumables, electronic equipment, cleaning materials, office supplies, and detergents. Hospital officials said the items are critical to sustaining daily clinical and administrative operations at one of The Gambia’s busiest maternal and child health facilities.

Speaking on behalf of Trust Bank’s managing director, Amie Kolleh Secka, the bank’s head of sales and public relations said the donation underscores the institution’s awareness of the hospital’s central role in providing life-saving services across the region.

“This year. Trust Bank is pleased to contribute D200,000 to Essau District Hospital, based on a list of requested items that we have reviewed with the hospital management. This donation is intended to help address your specific needs, ensuring that the hospital has the necessary resources to continue providing high-quality care to the women and children in the region,” she said.

Ms. Secka said the bank hopes to deepen its partnership with the hospital, noting the rise in patient numbers and the persistent shortages that continue to challenge service delivery.

“As we continue our partnership, we remain committed to not only supporting the hospital with the resources it needs but also to maintaining an open line of communication to ensure that our contributions are always aligned with your most pressing requirements. We are confident that this donation will go a long way in strengthening the hospital’s services and ensuring better outcomes for those who depend on your care,” she said.

Speaking on behalf of the minister of health, the regional health director for the North Bank Region—along with members of the hospital’s management—expressed gratitude for the support and pledged that the supplies would be used effectively.

“Trust Bank has never been left out in supporting the hospital, so partnering with Trust Bank is equal to improving care service delivery in this country,” he said.
