Africa-Press – Gambia. The United Democratic Party Selection Committee met at Manjai Bureau from 29th – 30th December 2022 to select candidates for the 120 wards for the upcoming Local Government Elections.
A total of 92 Candidates were selected and confirmed across the 8 Administrative Areas.
Banjul – 9 Candidates
Kanifing – 19 Candidates
Brikama – 19
Kerewan – 12
Mansakonko – 11
Kuntaur – 3
Janjanbureh – 12
Basse – 7
The party encourages female participation in politics, so far 8 female candidates have been selected and confirmed:
Banjul – 3
Kanifing – 2
Brikama – 2
Mansakonko – 1
The process will continue for the remaining 28 wards and we are hopeful to have more female candidates.
