Africa-Press – Gambia. Ebrima Jamanka, the acting chairman of the United Democratic Party (UDP) for the Niamina Dankunku constituency, has tendered his resignation effective 9 October 2025.
In his resignation letter, Jamanka did not specify whether his decision also signaled a departure from the party itself. He described his resignation as being “based on principle,” he wrote in his letter.
“I will take this opportunity to thank the party leader, lawyer Darboe, and the entire executive membership for having trust in me,” he stated.
Jamanka further requested that the party arrange to collect the motorbike that had been provided to him to facilitate his work as acting chairman. “It can be collected at my home at any time convenient for the party.”
He concluded his letter by expressing gratitude to the party leadership, executives, and supporters for their trust and support during his tenure as acting chairman.
