Africa-Press – Gambia. Modou Marr, the Regional Administrative Secretary, and Sait A. Joof, the Regional Co-ordinator of the United Democratic Party (UDP) for the North Bank Region, have officially resigned from both the party and their respective roles.
In separate letters submitted on 19 September 2025, both Marr and Joof confirmed their resignations without providing specific reasons for their departure.
Marr, in his brief statement, expressed his gratitude to the party, stating, “I enjoyed the working relationship during my time serving the party. I wish the UDP success in achieving its aims and objectives.”
Similarly, Joof reflected on his long-standing service, saying, “I thank everyone for the three decades I spent working with the party’s officials and militants.”
Their resignations come amid a period of internal shifts within the UDP, although, unlike recent party exits, neither Marr nor Joof disclosed any motive behind their decision.
