Africa-Press – Gambia. Alexandra Virina Scott MBE is a former professional footballer, pundit and TV presenter regularly reporting on BBC and Sky Sports.

The 37-year-old Londoner is of Jamaican descent and found out she has a Jewish background on the BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are ancestry programme. Her mother is northern Irish, English and of Lithuanian-Jewish heritage, whilst her father is Jamaican.

Alex made 140 appearances for the England national team in football and represented Great Britain in the 2012 summer Olympics. Speaking to the Mail’s Weekend magazine, Alex said: “I was drinking most nights. I would easily go through bottles to try and switch off.

“It was the only thing that could help me sleep or numb everything that was going on around me… it was the death threats, the abuse, all of that.

She continued: “I found myself pulling away from everyone around me, not wanting to talk to anyone.”

Alex said turning to booze was ‘unlike her’ and she underwent therapy to help her deal with trolling issues.It isn’t known whether Alex Scott is currently dating anyone, as she keeps her private life under wraps.

The TV pundit was previously romantically linked to Corrie star Sam Robertson after the pair were spotted enjoying a romantic meal together in London last year.

The Scottish actor and model is best known for his role as Ken Barlow’s grandson, Adam, in Coronation Street.
