Africa-Press – Gambia. Tunis-based WildyNess, a sustainable travel marketplace designed to connect conscious travellers with authentic local experiences, has secured an undisclosed pre-seed round co-led by Bridging Angels and the African Diaspora Network.
Founded in 2021 by Achraf Aouadi and Rym Bourguib, WildyNess focuses on curating community-based tourism (CBT) experiences in collaboration with micro-businesses. This approach ensures not only cultural authenticity but also positive local economic impact.
Since its launch, the startup has achieved over USD 300K in organic sales, relying solely on word-of-mouth and grassroots promotion, without any paid marketing. WildyNess has positioned itself as a key player in offering authentic travel experiences in North Africa.
The new funding will support the company’s expansion into Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE, and will further enhance its technology platform.
Investors praise WildyNess as a prime example of the emerging wave of African founders who are blending impact, innovation, and customer-centric approaches to reshape the travel industry’s future.
The rise of sustainable tourism is a growing trend globally, with more travelers seeking experiences that prioritize local culture and environmental responsibility. WildyNess is tapping into this demand by offering unique travel experiences that benefit local communities and economies, positioning it as an impactful player in the tourism sector.
