Africa-Press – Gambia. The Ministry of Youth and Sports under the leadership of Hon. Bakary Y. Badjie recently concluded a visit to their project sites in the rural Gambia. The tour is part of the ministry’s intensive work to ensure that the development, promotion, and regulations of youth and sports is guided by its policy and strategy. As part of the Ministry’s obligation, the tour is meant for the Minister to assess the level of work progress and to address challenges raised.
The tour started in the West Coast Region where the Minister and his entourage visited Brikama Youth and Sports’ new office complex that is under construction, before proceeding to Nyani Beri NYSS youth farm, Kafuta Football Field, Bwiam Football Field, and Julafarr football field in Kiang Manduar in the Lower River Region respectively.
The ministry entourage led by minister Badjie also visited the Niamina Upper and Senior Secondary School where ActionAid International, The Gambia was holding a youth camp being attended by youth from the various districts of Central River Region.
The minister and his delegation ended their tour at Janjanbureh and Diabugou Football Field which are currently under Construction. Meanwhile, during their visits to the project sites, Hon. Bakary Badjie, minister of Youth and Sports expressed satisfaction to the level of their projects, while encourage the contractors to mean the standard demands of their projects.
He also warned contractors not to take his calmness as weakness to do contrarily of what is expected of them, while calling them to do the best of their abilities in constructing good project to the people of the country.
