Guzakuza Launches First Agribusiness Week for Women

Africa-Press – Ghana. Guzakuza, a women-led agribusiness organization, has announced plans to organise the inaugural Women in Agribusiness Week, Ghana 2025 (WAW Ghana) in the Eastern Region to promote innovation, finance, and market access for women-led agribusinesses.

The organisation in a statement on Monday by Ms. Vida Akuamoah Boateng, Project Officer at Guzakuza, disclosed the maiden edition of WAW Ghana, would commence from September 15 to 16 at the Church of Pentecost, Nkubem in Koforidua.

The two-day event, themed “Innovating for a Resilient Agribusiness: Finance, Technology and Market Access for Growth,” is designed to highlight the challenges and opportunities for women in Ghana’s agricultural sector.

The programme will feature expert presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focusing on innovation, financial access, technology integration, and market development.

Alongside the conference, an exhibition will provide a marketplace for women-led agribusinesses and industry partners to showcase their products and services.

Ms. Boateng said the event aimed to empower women through knowledge-sharing and capacity building while creating stronger linkages between agripreneurs, financial institutions, and technology providers.

Stakeholders including policymakers, private sector leaders, development partners, and students are expected to participate.

“WAW Ghana 2025 is more than an event; it is a movement to accelerate the growth and resilience of women-led agribusinesses in Ghana,” Guzakuza, the women-led agribusiness organisation behind the initiative, said.

Since 2015, Guzakuza has launched programmes such as Ignite, SheFarms, and the continental Women in Agribusiness Week (WAW Africa).

While WAW Africa 2025 will be hosted in Uganda, the Ghana edition marks the first national platform of its kind dedicated to women in agribusiness.

Expected outcomes include greater adoption of innovative solutions by women in agriculture, expanded market opportunities, and strengthened dialogue between women entrepreneurs and decision-makers.

Organisers also expressed the hope that the event would become an annual feature in Ghana’s agribusiness calendar.

The venue for the maiden edition is the Church of Pentecost, Nkubem, opposite Koforidua Clinic.

Participants will include women farmers, agribusiness leaders, NGOs, researchers, faith-based organisations, and members of the public.

Guzakuza said it intends for the initiative to contribute to building a more resilient agribusiness ecosystem in Ghana through collaboration and innovation.
