Lebanese Ambassador Bids Farewell to President Mahama

Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Maher Kheir, the Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana, has bid farewell to President John Dramani Mahama at the Presidency in Accra upon the completion of his duty tour to Ghana.

The Ambassador, who has just completed a seven-year duty tour to Ghana, was also the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.

President Mahama congratulated Ambassador Kheir for the commitment and hard work that impacted the diplomatic community in Ghana and his role in strengthening Ghana, Lebanon relations.

Emphasising the importance of peace and security, President Mahama assured that Ghana would continue to contribute to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

On his part, Mr Kheir expressed gratitude for the audience granted him by the President.

He lauded Ghana for its democratic credentials and long-standing record of peacekeeping, especially the country’s contribution to the UNIFIL since 1978.

He also used the opportunity to apprise the President of activities he undertook during his tour to further enhance the cooperation between the two countries under education, culture, and trade.
