Africa-Press – Ghana. Madam Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, the deputy minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with families affected by Wednesday’s tragic incident at El-Wak.

The deputy minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for La Dade-Kotopon described the event as “a heartbreaking national tragedy.”

In a statement issued in Accra, Madam Sowah said the devastating occurrence, which was expected to be a moment of hope and progress for many Ghanaians, instead became “a day of sorrow and unimaginable loss,” leaving the entire country in mourning.

“As a mother, a leader and a Ghanaian, my heart aches deeply for every family that has lost a loved one. Some homes have fallen silent; dreams have been shattered,” she added.

The deputy minister extended her condolences to the bereaved families, praying for divine strength for them during this difficult period.

She also wished the injured a speedy and complete recovery.

“May the Almighty God grant the souls of the departed eternal rest in His peaceful bosom, and may He comfort our nation in this time of grief,” she stressed.
