The Paramount Chief of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, has reiterated calls on the Central Regional Development Commission (CEDECOM) and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to collaborate to revamp all tourism sites in the Gomoa Area to boost job creation.

The Omanhene said there were many tourism potential sites which must be maximised to attract both local and foreign tourists to Ajumako for sight seeing to generate jobs and boost the local economy.

The Obrempong made the call when Authorities of CEDECOM called on him at Gomoa Ajumako to discuss matters of interest about the various tourism sites in the area that could be developed to become one of the best attractions in the country.

The Paramount Chief said there was more than 15 acres of sacred forest behind his newly constructed palace with modern architectural designs, where their ancestors first settled, which could be added as tourism sites.

Obrempong Nyanfu Krampah mentioned the two sacred forests at Gomoa Simbrofo , near Gomoa Ajumako known as Apimanim where two deities, a male and a female recite and the venue of a walking stick left by a mysterious man called Asebu Amanfi at Gomoa Asebu, near Winneba Junction, before settling at Asebu in the Abura-Asebu- Kwamankese District could be developed into one of the best tourism sites to help create jobs and wealth for the citizenry.

He said the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area’s annual festival was also of significant importance.

Later, CEDECOM officials, Divisional Chiefs, Queen mothers, heads of family of Gomoa Ajumako together with the media visited the sites for the officials to develop a comprehensive and strategic tourism plan for the Area.

Mr Gabriel Fiatui, the Acting Executive Director of CEDECOM, gave the assurance that their findings would be a documented blueprint to ensure all potential sites were developed.

According to him the Commission would team up with Ghana Tourism Authority to come out with marketable plans for the best tourists sites to to rebranded in the Gomoa Ajumako area.

Mr Fiatui said the visit had aroused the interest of CEDECOM and GTA to put in more efforts to create an enabling Environment for the various tourists sites to make them more attractive for jobs and wealth creation for the people of Gomoa Ajumako and the nation as a whole.
