Africa-Press – Ghana. Reverend Wellington Klutse, Ho Kpodzi Parish Pastor of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has urged Christians to be humble, obedient and be law abiding citizens.
He said these were the hallmarks of a new life in Jesus Christ.
Rev. Klutse said this in his exhortation at the beginning of a three-day Easter crusade organized by the SSNIT Flats District of the Church at Adaklu Vodze in the Adaklu District.
It is on the theme “new life in Christ” and taken from Romans 5: 4 – 5.
The Pastoral district is made up five congregations, namely SSNIT Flats in Ho, Adaklu Kodzobi, Adaklu Vodze, Adaklu Have and Adaklu Dzakpo.
Rev. Klutse noted that rather than distancing themselves from the world, most Christians alienated themselves from the Christ they professed to be worshipping and thereby leading worldly lives.
“It is disheartening to see many Christians still yoked with the world and doing the same things for which Christ died and redeemed us,” he lamented.
He noted with concern that most Christians had become alcoholics and users of hard drugs adding that it was rare to see drinking bars in Moslem communities, but Christians were selling and using alcoholic beverages.
Rev. Klutse reminded them that their survival as Christians depended on only Jesus Christ saying, “Christ is very essential to our survival as Christians as water, food and air are to the survival of humans.”
He noted that most Christians did not read and meditate on the Bible because they did not know its value making them very stale.
He called on them not to neglect the teachings of the Bible and sacrifice for the kingdom of God adding that by so doing the bond between them and God would be stronger.
The Parish Pastor urged them to clothe themselves with the resurrected Christ to enable them lead Godly lives in their homes, communities, and workplaces.
Rev. Dr. Francis Kuvor, the District Pastor advised Christians not to waver but be steadfast when they face challenges knowing that “the resurrected Christ is in the boat with us.”
