Africa-Press – Ghana. Mr Khaled Mhalhel, President of the Weightlifting Federation of Africa (WFA), has congratulated Mr Jerry Ahmed Shaib on his re-election as President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation.
Mr Shaib, the Member of Parliament for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, achieved a landslide victory, polling 100% of the votes cast to retain his post as President of the GWF.
In a statement, Mr Mhalhel welcomed the newly elected GWF executives and was especially glad to learn of Mr Shaib’s re-election.
“On behalf of myself, the Executive Board members and the WFA family, I avail this opportunity to extend our heartfelt congratulations to you and the entire elected Executive Board members,” the statement said.
Mr Mhalhel further wished GWF President Shaib lots of success in his activities, adding that “I am convinced that you will do your utmost best for the benefit of our sport in your country. Looking forward to continuing our fruitful cooperation.”
Other elected members of the executive board include Mr Isaac Tetteh as Vice-President, Kenneth Odeng Adade as Secretary-General, Madam Edith Owusu Agyepong as Treasurer, and Dr Christopher Akwesi Adomako, Prof. Jonathan Quartey and Mr Benjamin Addy as Board Members.
These newly elected executives are expected to spearhead the affairs of the GWF for the next four years and propel Ghana to success on the international stage.
