The fate of the 10 finalists of this year’s Miss Malaika pageant will be decided on Saturday, November 2 at the National Theatre when it hosts the grand finale of the competition.

The reality show began in August when 16 ladies were introduced as participants in this year’s competition after a boot camp.

Since then, the ladies have gone through an intensive journey of rediscovery and grooming in preparation for the finals where one will be selected to succeed the reigning queen, Mariam Owusu-Poku.

On a weekly basis, the delegates performed assigned tasks that included cooking competition, fundraising for an orphanage in Accra, fashion and hair shows, among others.
During this period, six delegates were evicted, leaving 10 to go to the finals next Saturday.

In a release, organisers of Miss Malaika, Charterhouse, said “the beautiful ladies will be put to test as they battle against one another through intelligence, beauty, eloquence and a whole lot more”.

The night is expected to be jazzed up with live performances from some of Ghana’s young and vibrant artistes such as Medikal, Adina, Kelvyn Boy, DopeNation among others.

Miss Malaika started in 2003 with Thelma Tawiah making history as the first winner of the pageant.

Since then, Melissa Mensah (2004), Patricia Akuamoah (2005), Hamamat Montia (2006), Geraldine Partington (2011), Bridget Sharon Cofie ( 2012), Naa Oyoe Quartey (2013), Leah Brown (2016) among others have all borne the title of Miss Malaika Ghana.
