Africa-Press – Ghana. Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has swept all 28 votes in the North East Region in the Super Delegates Conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
North East Region is the home region of the Vice President.
Earlier, the camp of Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen had threatened to reject results from the region, accusing delegates of showing their ballots after voting.
A polling station agent at the Nalerigu Senior High School, where the elections were held, was assaulted after complaining about the actions of the delegates.
At the end of the exercise, provisional results gave the Vice President a 100 percent victory.
In other provisional results received Dr Bawumia has jumped to the lead of the pack.
In the Greater Accra Region, the Vice President polled 36 votes with Ken Agyapong and Alan Kyerematen polling 15 and 14 votes respectively.
In the Bono Region, Dr Bawumia amassed 28 votes with the former Trade Minister trailing with four votes and Mr Agyapong with two votes.
